The Temperament of High school Life

"Ano nga ba?"

Adolescence is the time when we first entered high school. This is the time when youngsters have almost every first of their livesfirst romance, first kiss, first dance and etc. But did you know that this is also a time of struggle and hardships?
After our elementary days, high school is the next interlude of our educational progression. We usually see this as an exciting era for our self development. Many teenagers take high school as a crash course because their minds are set off to other annoying things. But this is the right place where we first distinguish the difference of reality from fantasy, non-fiction from fiction. In short, high school is the introduction of the real world around us.
This is the phase of our lives when we first encountered ourselves being involved with something we shouldn’t be involved. Being allies of certain fraternities and sororities is a very good illustration of this. This is also the time of temptations; when someone is engage of having a sexual affair or fling relationship towards a person of opposite or of the same sex. Not only that, this also the time of many bullying acts. Some students intimidate others just to seize their superiority. During also this stage, we are easily inclined with different peer pressuresdrinking alcoholic beverages, smoking cigars, using illegal drugs and so on. This is also the time when we struggle for our true identity. Unlike our elementary days, high school is far more challenging and tricky.
High school is a time of uncertainty. We are improbable for the things we usually see and observed. We typically keep an eye for the unusual things. We perceive our track from innocence to expertise.

Author’s note:
·        This is the essay I wrote for my second formal theme……

The Unbearable ‘Feb-ibig’ Love Affair

Every year when we turn our calendars on its second page and leave the January section, that’s the time when each and every one of us see a two-digit number written in a red-bright-colored-bold manner. Well aside from those of regular Sundays of the month.
This is February 14, the day of Saint Valentin, a day of love and romance.
“Love conquers all.” Yuck! This thought makes me dizzy and nauseating. Flowers, chocolates and sweet words, aren’t they’re sickening and disgusting? Romantic films, Eew…. don’t you find it annoying? I personally dislike stuffs like these. These are also the reasons why I definitely hate this, what you so-called, ‘feb-ibig love affair’. I don’t like seeing happy person in their high spirits. Sometimes, all I want to do is to slap their faces with those gross Valentines cards of theirs. Not only that, when I used to hit the streets during this time of the year, all I bound to find are pairs of bothersome couples, sitting over stinky benches while reciting their horrible lovey dovey pick-up lines. Oh, see? Isn’t that obnoxious?
Let us rephrase the famous line, ‘Love is in the air’ but instead ‘Love is dragging us down in hell.’ Isn’t that exciting? Are you now thrilled? Celebrating Valentines with Satan? Good for me. Besides, it really sounds…..HOME!

WANTED: A PERFECT FAMILY?

Tired of an idle father, a nagger mom and obnoxious siblings? Are you looking for a perfect family? Who among you don’t like the idea of a perfect family?
Each and every one of us is craving for the flawless life we always wanted. We are always looking for the things we lack. We strive for superiority and power. Fame and success, these are things that we always glorify. But did you know that these are not the main substances for a great family or even a wonderful life? There are many personalities out there that are longing for their parents’ attention and love. We always thought of them as lucky children of this world just because they were born with golden spoons in their mouths and they dress in full splendor. A perfect and successful life doesn’t mean a happy existence.
" I love mom and dad!"

Parents must spend enough time with their children. They must teach them love. Practice them discipline. Edify them good manners. Educate them the sensible principles and conscience, a good being of this earth should know without giving in too often, without spoiling their child, without providing a pretentious sense of security. There are ends!
Family is the basic foundation of community that we all know. This is where most of us learned our first words. This is where we did our first walk. This is where we find out the simplicity of the world around us. And lastly, this is where we were first taught the words of love, the words of God.
A successful family is something that, like many great things in life. It takes a lot of work and effort. There are many different family types, and there are many different paths to success.
What would you do with a successful family who’s cold and hesitant to give the care, the attention their children were seeking for years? Success, fame, wealth and perfection, aren’t just enough!

TEMPTATIONS

"Chocolates, aren't they're addictive?"

Food is one of our primary necessities in life. It is essential for one’s growth and development. It gives us enough energy to accomplish things. Eating a balanced diet keeps our body in a good condition. It is very important to eat hale and hearty foods in order to stay away from illness and diseases.
As the saying goes, “Kung ano pang bawal ay yaong pang masarap.” This is true, even if we deny it; teenagers are really prone to this kind of problem. Only few of my age used to eat veggies and juices extracted from it. Most of them prefer junk foods, candies or I must say unhealthy foods. Even I can’t resist eating ice cream whenever I am depressed. During meal times, I am more excited to know about our dessert than the main course is. I’m having a blast every time I eat chocolates and candies. That’s my way of life. Although, I know it isn’t good for me, I always go for it. Hey! Chocolates are really addictive.
Oh! I remember way back then, during my elementary days, I used to have tonsillitis, colds and cough every time. My mother “ordered” me to always eat vegetables and fruits rich in Vitamin C and so I did. What can I do? She’s my mother anyway.
However, my passion for sweets never ends but I see to it that I’ll always regulate my sugar consumption. I’m a big girl now, so I must know my responsibilities as an individual. I used to drink enough glasses of water a day in order to cleanse my internal organs. I do some walk every morning to exercise my lower limb. But I really won’t go for vegetables for now but maybe in the near future.
I think for the mean time, I’ll have to leave my greatest temptation in life. Aish! CHOCOLATES….

JUST UNFORGETTABLE!

There are plenty of remarkable things happened to me though I am too young to have as many as you think but here are the list of my much loved golden memories:
1.    My seventh birthday- My mother prepared a lot for me. Many relatives and close family friends attended my party with lots of gifts for me, obviously. And what really made this one special is that it was the only birthday I had my father on my side helping me to blow the candles on the cake.
2.    Balloon Incident- This happened when I was in Grade VI, only a day after our Christmas Party. (Maybe you are wondering po, yeah may pasok pa kahit tapos na yung party.) Mary Jean and another classmate of ours, Laurmel was playing a balloon (hagis dito, hagis doon) when suddenly it came running down from the fourth floor to the grounds.
"Presenting: The Balloons"
Actually, it was Jean who was accused of climbing the plant box just to reach the balloon. Then, the two of them were brought to the Principal’s office because the principal saw Jean’s heroic act of saving the balloon. And Dr. Bustos got angry because what she had done was pretty dangerous. I was also called because I was the only person in the particular scene but I swore to the heavens and Greek gods, I didn’t see or even remember Jean reaching out for the silly balloon. The funniest part was when Mary Jean started to cry because of the wrong accusations.
3.    Tree Planting in Rizal- This one was a very exciting and I must say the most adventurous incident happened to me. Actually, all through our way to the planting area I had slipped a hundred of times. My companion during the said activity was none other than, Madam Pres. Heidi Rose Del Rosario. (Uy! Heidi, special mention pa ‘yan. Sikat?.) She was even sucked by a leech (Ang gross ‘di ba?) Her pants were ripped, too. So lucky me, I had only this sludge all over my clothes (No! Actually all over my body.) This muddy trip taught me to be more careful concerning my balance.
There are lots of memories we treasure all our lives. It can be happy memories or heartbreaking reminiscences of our previous life but what are more important than are our life experiences TODAY? I must say NOTHING!
So I guess this ends our countdown for my most unforgettable memories in life. Actually, there are plenty of them pa kaso hindi na kasya. I just can’t help thinking about these things eh. Wanna know why? Because, it simply, JUST UNFORGETTABLE!
